We remember those lost in the
Virginia Tech tragedy today...
In the Hot Rumor of the Day, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have been getting very close lately. The special "friends" flew in to Las Vegas together on a private jet Monday night. Mariah and Nick then hopped over to Prive at Planet Hollywood to celebrate the birthday of Carey's best friend, Da Brat. Mariah was sipping the Dom Rose and having a great time with Nick and Brat. And in case you’re a huge fan, BET will premiere its new special "MC2=The Relativity of Mariah," tonight at 7:30 pm. The 30-minute program showcases her new CD "E=MC2."
 
Britney Spears is thinking about releasing her own very private and intimate video diary, which chronicles her very public meltdown, either on the internet or on MTV. The tapes reportedly contain footage of the pop star ranting on and on about her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, ex-husband Kevin Federline and arch rival, Christina Aguilera , among other celebrity friends and foes. One source said, “Some of it is really sad to watch, especially the parts where she is close to a breakdown.” I’d watch it!!
Pete Wentz has outright denied reports that his fiancée, Ashlee Simpson, is pregnant with his baby. Well, MTV News caught up with Ashlee yesterday, when she showed up for a taping of "TRL". And she didn’t deny it. She didn't confirm it, either. Instead, she straight-up dodged the question altogether. She said, "I just think it's an inappropriate question to ask any woman. For me, that's something that I didn't ever want to respond to, because I think it's an inappropriate question. Some things, you want to keep personal, and I think that when people deny reports that they're pregnant, it's probably because it's something they want to keep personal." They also brought it up during the "TRL" taping, and Ashlee dodged the question again. She said that if all the rumors about her were true, she, "would have had a baby by now." She even refused to talk about wedding plans, or reveal how Pete proposed to her saying, "That's all so sacred, I need to keep that to myself. But he did a great job at picking out the ring.
"Sex and the City"actress, Cynthia Nixon has come out as a breast cancer survivor. On "Good Morning America" yesterday, Cynthia said she was diagnosed with cancer in her right breast two years ago. Luckily, it was caught early, and the growth was small. She had it removed, and underwent six and a half weeks of radiation. She says she didn't go public because, "I didn't want the paparazzi at the hospital." Makes perfect sense to me, congratulations! We hear she will be a spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the next year.
There is some bad news in Hollywood today, Emilio Diaz, the father of Cameron Diaz, died unexpectedly yesterday morning. He was 58. He recently developed the flu, and it turned into pneumonia. He was in great health otherwise. Cameron is currently filming a movie called "My Sister's Keeper", with Alec Baldwin, Joan Cusack and Abigail Breslin. Production was shut down yesterday after Cameron got the news.
At 62, Priscilla Presley was the oldest competitor this season on "Dancing With The Stars." After receiving the lowest scores and viewer votes, she was sent into retirement last night. Joining Priscilla in the bottom two was Cristian De La Fuente.
