Jennifer Lopez wants Tom Cruise to be the godfather of her and husband Marc Anthony's twins, son Max and daughter, Emme.  A source said, "Tom is delighted. Marc wasn't sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids' godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic. But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree."

Carrie Underwood
says her breakup with "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford was mutual and pretty laid back. In fact, they didn't even end it face-to-face. Carrie says, "It was completely mutual. We broke up over text so, it's like, 'Peace out.' It just didn't work. We both knew it didn't work and had no hard feelings at all whatsoever."

Yesterday, just one week after 50 Cent said everything was cool between G-Unit and Young Buck, Fiddy announced that Buck was out of G-Unit. In an interview 50 said, "You can take this as an official notice right here, Young Buck is no longer in the group G-Unit, but he is still signed to G-Unit Records as a solo artist." G-Unit is now down to just three members, 50, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Of course, The Game was booted from the group in 2005. There's no word if Buck will still appear on G-Unit's upcoming album, "Lock and Load".

Ryan Seacrest
, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are getting into the spirit of "Idol Gives Back" by donating their paychecks from the show to charity. "Idol Gives Back" airs tomorrow night, but it was taped on Sunday night in Los Angeles. Here are a few highlights: After Snoop Dogg and Teddy Riley performed Snoop’s new song, "Can't Say Goodbye" some kids from his youth football league joined him onstage. Backstage, Snoop talked about how coaching youth football is one of the ways he "gives back". He said, "These kids are at risk. And it's so easy to join a gang, so easy to get drugs, but it's so hard to do something right with yourself. I'm trying to give them an opportunity to do something right with themselves." Miley Cyrus also performed a few songs, in her first introduction to "American Idol". She says, “I've never seen a single episode, ever. I think it's something you have to really get into from the beginning and I just don't have time!" Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres reportedly shows up in some capacity. She was supposed to co-host the show with Ryan, but we'd heard she had to back out. Supposedly, she does something that has her "pretending" to be Oprah Winfrey. Finally, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton do make appearances via satellite, but John McCain couldn't get through due to technical problems. He still may tape a message before tomorrow night.  Jimmy Kimmel roasts Simon Cowell on stage. Brad Pitt literally stopped the show Sunday when he walked on to the stage.  First, the crowd's reaction was so long and loud that he couldn't begin speaking. Then when he tried, his microphone didn't work.  That prompted not one but two female production assistants to come to his aid by fixing the microphone attached to his shirt. Mariah Carey reportedly sings a song from her “Emancipation” album, a song called “Fly Like a Bird” with Randy Jackson playing bass in the background. Fergie teams up with Heart to perform “Barracuda” and ends up doing some flips on stage for some reason.
