As I mentioned yesterday, I had the greatest weekend ever!  Wait, it was the most fantastic, amazing, perfect, wonderful, terrific, super duper and awesome weekend EVER!! Granted, it ended in tears, but that was beside the point.

Here's a look into what happened at my house over the weekend.  Some would call the following boring, I call it paradise.  On Friday, Sexy Jim came home from work early to spend some quality time with me and Noel.  That's what I call an awes-- I mean a blessing.  Really.  I am so lucky to have a husband that can and wants to do that.  We immediately went outside for a walk with our girls, Noel and Martini (our puppy) for at least an hour.  I love that.  Going for a walk is some of my favorite family time.  We made a yummy dinner, put Noel to bed and bought a movie on TV.  I always always fall asleep if we try to watch something on Friday nights, but this time I got through all but 15 minutes (I watched the rest Saturday morning) and that was impressive.

We got up Saturday morning and headed out to the beach so that our friend Todd could take some family pictures - you know the standard black and whites where the whole family is in white linen on the beach - that's what we wanted.  Awww... can't wait to see them - THANKS TODD!!  Then we went out for some pancakes and french toast.  Another one of my favorites!  Bring on the sausage baby!  After that, it was time to get to work.  We put on our work clothes and did a bunch of yard work - which is difficult considering our yard is nearly a dirt pile.  I hate that we don't have green grass.  Drives me nuts!  We did both the front and the back yard AND I cleaned out our garage.  Tangent!!  This is funny - over here at Z104 we rented a dumpster to throw out a bunch of junk on Friday.  Seriously, there were old copier machines that were the size of living room couches!  All kinds of junk from our office went in that thing.  So I had the great idea to get all that crap that really is crap that you can't even donate.  We hauled our old kitchen countertop - complete with sink - and gave it a new home in the trash!  You don't even know how much I've been looking forward to that day.  It's an ugly green-ish blue-ish color that matched NOTHING and it had been in our garage for about 16 months.  LORD!!  I was so happy to get that out!  Okay, back to Saturday evening.  Oh, Jim would want me to mention that I was the best wife ever for letting him take a two hour nap in between yard work shifts.  Yay for me.  Okay, so Saturday night we were going to go to
Town Point Park in Norfolk for the Bayou Boogaloo with Ben and Suzy, but Suz called and says, "You do NOT want to hang out with us tonight.  We are just not having a good day."  So be it.  No problem.  Jimmy and I stayed in - that was good with me!

Sunday we got up and went to church - found out some friends were pregnant, (yay!) but that they were moving to Florida (boo!).  We went to pick up some lunch and get back home to pack up for the day.  The four of us (puppy included) gathered our pool stuff and went out to Shelly and Randy's house.  We swam around with their girls, Julia and Taylor, and barbequed some yummy chicken, corn and asparagus.  Oh!  Don't forget the delicious cupcakes - mmmm!  We finished off the night sitting by the firepit watching their "pet" bats.  Taylor has named them Kira and Lava.  Go figure.

What an amazing weekend...my family time that is just invaluable.  Wouldn't have traded a minute of it for anything.  Do you ever have weekends like that?  Seemingly boring, but juuuuust right!!?
