Wait, wha?? Where did the weekend go!? Ugh, it just goes by too quickly. Don’t get me wrong: L-o-v-e my job and my co-workers but I also l-o-v-e sleeping in and spending time at the beach!
On Friday, Joe and I had “date night.” Someone asked me, “Isn’t it too soon for you guys to already be having date night?” No. Our schedule and life is super hectic and we try to make it a priority to set time aside for just US every now and again. We headed to Aldo’s for dinner (which Shaggy was bent about- it’s his favorite place!) While we sat on the patio we had calamari, pizza and their foccacia bread. Absolutely DELICIOUS! I owed Joe a belated birthday gift so we headed over to the mall. He’s been bugging me about a new watch. Well, I have no idea what he wants or what he likes so I let him pick one out and Voila! Birthday present- Done! He’s happy so that makes me happy! Needless to say, I am pretty late on the Birthday present but Joe doesn’t seem to mind. After that, we headed home!
Saturday was an incredible day. I slept in with the pups…and then headed to the beach with them and my friend Molly! Her hubby was out of town because of work and Joe was working at the firestation so we figured we’d make it a girls day at the beach! We bought some $10 lounge chairs, brought our books and some grapes and called it a day. I was in heaven. I was so proud of Moose (our 95lb Golden) He HATES water but on Saturday he decided to venture in after me! I wish I had my camera with me…he was doggy paddling along until he saw a BIG wave and hightailed it back towards the beach! Nala (my little peekapoo) refused to go in the water. Although, she ran along the beach barking as Moose and I swam. What a baby! Anyway…I also spent some time with the future in-laws and Grandma Montgomery, which was really nice. Joe’s grandmother just bought a house in Chesapeake and plans on moving here sometime in the summer. Her husband passed away recently and she wants to be closer to family. I really look forward to spending more time with her and getting to know her better! Her new house is gorgeous! I want to live in a 55 and up community! Lol.
Anyway, Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend. Unfortunately, I will not be able to spend it with my mom…but I will be in Blacksburg to see Joe’s sister, Kristina graduate from Virginia Tech! Go Hokies! I will be back in time for the Glow In The Dark tour…I assure you of that! Anyway, till tomorrow…I am off to schedule some music! Xo!
