The Hot Rumor of the Day is simply proving the truth today. Over the weekend, you may have heard that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married in New Orleans. It is not true. As far as we know, they weren't even in New Orleans, much less getting married there. The rumor was that they got married at a place called the French Quarter Wedding Chapel in New Orleans. But Reverend Anthony "Ambassador of Romance" Talavera, who owns the joint, says he's never even met them.

Is Akon secretly going country? Yes, at least according to questionable reports online. Supposedly, Akon has already recorded a country album under an alias. Akon says, "No black artist has ever broken into the genre. I'm going in under a secret alias and I've already got my first hit record." Apparently, Akon doesn't think too highly of black country stud Cowboy Troy or a legend like Charlie Pride.

On Thursday, Remy Ma was convicted of several charges, including assault, for shooting a "friend" of hers back in July. She's facing 25 years in prison. Remy Ma flipped out as the verdict was read and now we're finding out that it wasn't just the conviction that upset her. It also ruined her plans to marry Papoose on a yacht on April 27th. She's scheduled to be sentenced on April 23rd. There'd been speculation that Remy and Papoose were together but, until now, Papoose denied the rumors. Now, he tells MTV News that they did have marriage plans and they still do even if it means they'll have to tie the knot in prison. He says, "We always wanted to keep our personal lives personal, so that's why we never went public with our relationship. Right now, I just feel like she gotta live through me. Yes, we were scheduled to be married on a yacht April 27th. "But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now making arrangements to be married in prison." In the meantime, Remy's lawyer says that they plan on appealing her conviction. And Remy herself is appealing to her fans to convince the judge to give her a break.

We heard last month that Orlando Bloom’s girlfriend, model Miranda Kerr, was threatening to break up with him because of his filthy habit of wearing the same clothes multiple times before washing them. Well, Orlando may have since moved on. Jennifer Aniston was seen hanging on to him pretty closely at a restaurant in L.A. last week. And if you recall, they were seen hanging out together in Mexico last October. But at the time, they said they were there for the wedding of a mutual friend. That may very well have been the case, but perhaps the seeds of intimacy were planted there?
