After Britney Spears' guest appearance on "How I Met Your Mother" last month, there's been a lot of talk that she could come back for more. There's even some speculation that she might join the cast. Obviously, CBS would probably be down with that, since Britney's appearance bumped ratings up by about a million viewers. But not everyone wants her back. "How I Met Your Mother" stud Neil Patrick Harris says, "She's not an actress. She played a role for a week, and did a really nice job, but the workload involved with doing memorization and the purging of comedy over and over is really, really hard. "I mean, it takes a strong skill set to do that every week. You do it one week, it's fine, but to do it a lot of weeks is hard. She's not going to be a regular on our show." Just to be clear, Neil doesn't have any personal beef with Britney, he just doesn't feel that his show needs to resort to stunt-casting. "I just am a real fan of our content. I think we have a great show going, and I hope it's not screwed up by the desire for 700,000 more viewers."

Attendees at an early audience screening of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight" say the movie was very well received. There was only one problem: Some of the viewers got a little uncomfortable during a scene in which Heath Ledger, who plays the Joker, got into a body bag and pretended to be dead. There's no word from Warner Brothers whether or not that scene could be cut.

Vanilla Ice was arrested yesterday for allegedly assaulting his wife at their home in Palm Beach County, Florida. He was booked on a charge of simple domestic battery. Police were called to the home of Vanilla Ice (40-year-old Rob Van Winkle) at about 7:15pm. His wife, Laura, had told police that Rob was hitting and kicking her. When they got there, however, she said he did not hit or kick her, but that he pushed her. She also told them she wanted a divorce. Police found Rob about two blocks from the house, on his motorcycle. He denied hitting, kicking or pushing Laura. He told police that she's bipolar and takes medication, but still has, "irrational and argumentative episodes". He also told police that she had thrown a picture frame from a balcony to the ground, where it shattered near him and their kids. He said he took off on his motorcycle to cool off.

"Life & Style Weekly" claims that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake will meet up this summer at a Spears family barbecue. Supposedly, Britney's dad, Jamie, arranged the meeting, because he thinks it'll give Britney closure, and, "further aid her recovery from mental illness issues."

Last night on "American Idol" the three in the bottom three were Michael Johns, Carly Smithson and Syesha Mercado. They sent home Michael Johns. Next week is Mariah Carey week, and Mariah will be there.

Here are the movies coming out this weekend:
